ISLAMIC, Seljuks. Rum. Ghiyath al-Din Kay Khusraw III, AH 663-682 / AD 1265-1283. Dirham (Silver, 23 mm, 2.94 g, 6 h), Arzanjan (Erzincan), AH 675 = AD 1276/7. Broome 750. Izmirlier 938. Lightly toned. Minor flan fault on the obverse, otherwise, good very fine.

Marco Polo visited Arzanjan (modern Erzincan) only five year before this coin was issued, reporting that the 'the people [of Arzanjan] are Armenians', and that Arzanjan was the 'noblest of cities' and the See of an Armenian Archbishop.
